The Nokia 5130 Red - A Phone For All Seasons

The Nokia 5130 Red is a phone which has a distinctive red surround to its casing, hence the reference in the name. It's ergonomically designed to be lightweight and slim and at only 88g and 14.8mm thick it achieves this goal with aplomb. Nokia provide phones that are simple but effective and efficient, this phone carries on that tradition.

The features of this phone include a built in 2 mega pixel fixed focus camera, which has a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels and also provides the means to take video footage at 15 frames per second. At this level of resolution, pictures are of a good standard and are easily good enough to print out and keep. Images can also be displayed on an impressive 2 inch QVGA display screen which provides 256,000 colours, which means images are imposing and crystal clear.

Music is provided by a useful MP3 player, which supports all major audio file formats including MP3, AAC and WMA. FM stereo radio with full RDS support ensures an alternative to downloaded music and offers local and national radio station to catch up on the latest news, weather or radio show. Memory storage isn't an issue with up to 16 Gb provided by utilising the microSD (Transflash) slot.

The phone can transfer file via blue tooth version 2, which also has A2DP as well as a microUSB port which allows connections to a PC for file transfer or synchronisation. A Voice memo facility provides the means to record voice notes and play them back at a more convenient time.

The Nokia 5130 Red is an accomplished phone which offers the usual functions and features that have made Nokia a respected and well known brand name in the mobile phone market. Nokia has stuck to its tried and tested methodology of simple styling and user friendly features which combine to make a phone which appeals to the majority of the general public.
